Consultation

Complimentary

You’ve found us online, through social media or a Google search. Perhaps your friend or sister-in-law sent you our way.

You either know exactly what a doula is and already see her as a part of your birth team, or...

That friend of yours raved about us, but you’re not sure you fully get why a doula would be for you. Especially if you already have the support of your spouse, family, or friends.

A doula consultation will help you:

  • Fully understand what a doula is.

  • Explore your vision for your birth.

  • Discover whether or not PDA can assist in you in achieving birth goals.

  • Determine if we’d be a good fit.

A client consultation helps us:

  • Understand why you’re looking to hire a doula.

  • Explore how you see us as a part of your birth team.

  • Discover how we can help you achieve your birth goals.

  • Determine if we’d be a good fit.

The consultation is done via a video chat.

Your due date is reserved on our calendar for 7 days with no obligation.

Labor Support

You’ve decided our labor doula is perfect. She is now your go-to person for all things pregnancy and birth.

Congratulations! That’s excellent news!

But, now what? What's next?

Doula support can look different for every client. However, every client experience includes:

  • Unlimited email, phone, and text support, during normal business hours for non-emergent communication.

    • We provide information, resources, and answers to any questions you may have through your password-protected client portal.

  • We are on a “soft-call” for you immediately once your contract is signed and the retainer fee is received.

    • In an emergency, though not on-call, we are available. No matter the time of day.

  • You will receive fun email updates on the progress of your pregnancy as it develops.

  • An in-home prenatal visit is scheduled around 30 weeks gestation with you and whoever will join you for the birth of your baby.

  • At 38 weeks, we begin a 24/7 on-call period until the baby is born.

  • We join you during labor when you need the support of a doula's presence, whether you labor at home, birth center, or hospital.

  • We remain with you through the immediate postpartum period, usually lasting about 2 hours.

    • We assist with bonding and breastfeeding if desired.

  • Labor doula support ends with a final in-home visit ideally within 2-3 days of your homecoming to discuss your birth experience and see how you are transitioning as a family.

Our goal is to provide the very best care. We hope to exceed your expectations. We look forward to joining your birth team.

If postpartum support is desired, we can help get you set up with our postpartum team.
